As a fried chicken Fanatic, I was excitedly looking forward to a meal at Hattie's. We were surprised and very disappointed when our food came to the table cold and with not much flavor, The service was rude ( even colder then the food), and an article of clothing ended up missing off our chair! All in all, I think the owner could go back to basic's and tighten up the kitchen. Even the famous desserts the waiters kept selling turned out to be a letdown. Southern food is my thing, and this place is isn't making the grade! Greene Chef
I realize that it is very difficult to operate a busy restaurant. I have run one and know that people can be demanding and slightly cazy. I also know when a pretty good restaurant has been promoted out of its comfort zone and is failing miserable. Sorry, but Hattie's, which I looked so forward to patronizing unfortunately lived up to all of the negative press that I read after our meal. Horrible greens, ( sorry thats a crime) dry chicken breasts, ( is that not something they should know how to avoid?) and really bad mash potatoes, let me to finally pin my hopes on the sweet potato pie for dessert. In a word, don't bother, it was the final disappointment in a night not well spent. I am usually very sensitive to the difficulties in running a successful restaurant, but this place just added up to a waste of time and lots of money.
