“Cirque de la Symphonie” Brings Thrilling Acrobatics and Aerial Feats to SPAC’s Orchestra Stage This Weekend

Saratoga Springs, NY - The dazzling skills of acrobats, aerial flyers, contortionists, jugglers, dancers, balancers and strongmen that astonished audiences during last year’s season of The Philadelphia Orchestra returns again this year for two evenings, Friday, August 5  and Saturday, August 6 at 8 p.m. at SPAC. This traveling troupe of artists and acrobats has quickly become one of the most popular shows for live orchestras across the nation.

 “Last year’s debut of Cirque with The Philadelphia Orchestra was one of our biggest hits of the season,” said Marcia J. White, SPAC’s President and Executive Director. “This year we’ve brought the magic back for two nights, each with a completely different program. These are the best performers in the world; some are former Olympians, others are world-record holders and gold medalists. Audiences of all ages will be on the edge of their seats watching these acrobats perform stunning feats to classical masterpieces performed by The Philadelphia Orchestra.”

Cirque de la Symphonie is led by producer and executive director Bill Allen and technical director Alexander Streltsov, a Russian aerial artist who began as a cirque performer at age 12. Members of the troupe perform acrobatic and aerial feats in front of and above live orchestras which creates an exhilarating visual and musical spectacle. Gasps, oohs, and ahs can be heard from audiences as acrobats soar across the stage, complete breathtaking balancing stunts and perform incredible juggling acts.
