Children's Auditions for Two NYC Ballets Performed During SPAC's 2011 Summer Season!

National Museum of Dance School of the Arts

Saratoga Springs - Gariele Whittle, NYC Ballet Children's Ballet Mistress, and Dena Abergel, NYCB Assistant Children's Ballet Mistress, have announced the date and time of auditions for two NYCB children's ballets being performed during SPAC's  2011 Summer Season.  The auditions are hosted by the School of the Arts at the National Museum of Dance, 99 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs, and will take place on Sunday, March 27th at 12:00 noon. The application is available on the National Museum of Dance website at:  www.dancemuseum.org.  Rehearsals begin at the end of June.

"Circus Polka", choreography by Jerome Robbins, will need 48 girls plus understudies: 16 girls ages 7-9 yrs. with at least one year of training; 16 girls ages 9-12 yrs. with at least 3 years of training; and 16 girls ages 11-13 yrs. with at least 3 years of training.  The height of the dancers should not exceed 5 feet 2 inches. 

"Magic Flute", choreography by Peter Martins, will need 18 dancers plus understudies: 6 boys plus understudies, ages 10-13 yrs., approximately 5 feet in height; and 12 girls plus understudies, ranging in age from 10-12 yrs., not to exceed 5 feet in height, with at least 3 years of ballet training.
