87-year-old Betty McCanty, mother of eight, grandmother and great-grandmother, is a professional storyteller with 25 years of experience. A graduate of SUNY-Buffalo, she studied storytelling with Jeannine Laverty and has performed in Australia, Europe, and many places in the United States. She has taught the Art of Storytelling at the Academy for Lifelong Learning in Saratoga Springs. Her special interest is tall tales of the Adirondacks and folk tales.
