Poetry Open Mic With Featured Readers: Marsha Kroll and Mary Kane
Open Mic readers sign up at 7 PM. Read one long poem (more than 1 page), or two short poems. All styles and levels of experience welcome. Excessive profanity discouraged.
2007 Bucks County Pennsylvania Poet Laureate Marsha Kroll’s poems have appeared or will be appearing in 5 A.M., Cimarron Review, Hayden's Ferry Review, U.S.1 Worksheets, Quercus Review, and Paterson Literary Review, among other literary journals. She has also been honored with a number of poetry awards, including an Honorable Mention and an Editor's Choice Award from the Allen Ginsberg Awards series, and 2nd Prize from the Mad Poets Poetry Contest. She is also a two-time Finalist in the River Styx International Poetry Competition. Her chapbook, Modeling With Miss America, was published by Finishing Line Press.
Cape Cod, Massachusetts, poet Mary Kane is the winner of the 2009 Regional Poetry Award from the Cape Cod Cultural Council, a semi-finalist in the Alice James Books Beatrice Hawley Prize, and a two-time winner of the Wallace Stevens Poetry Prize from the University of Connecticut. Her poetry chapbook, She Didn't Float, was published by Harlequin Ink.
