Founded in 1991 and known for dance that offers a “lush interlacing of music and motion, daring and athleticism,” the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company (ESDC) is celebrating its 19th season as the resident company of The Egg in Albany. Its modern dance work engages both dance aficionados and the uninitiated into the world of modern dance. Ellen Sinopoli and her dancers have collaborated with over 25 artists of distinct genres and backgrounds, such as architectural designer Frances Bronet, sculptor Jim Lewis, clarinetist Don Byron and composer Hilary Tann. “Spill Out!”, ESDC’s multi-artist, multi-media full evening work, was named as “one of the year’s most innovative regional performance works” by the Times Union, and The Gazette listed it as #1 of the “Top 10 shows of 2006”.
