I just came home from one of the loveliest dinners I have ever had in Saratoga. A restaurant named Tiznow, is run by a NYC transplant name John. This, I happened to pry out of him, as I was asking him about the place (a gentleman in the classic sense, he is extremely understated). The ambiance was exquisite, the food, divine. The chef, a youngster named Alex, clearly understood the importance of food styling and presentation. The taste held up. As my husband and I are new to the area, we are happy to have found a restaurant that made us feel like we are back home - admittedly, we are NYU transplants (having grown up originally in Long Island). We look forward to the live latin music we've heard so much about. We'll be back - frequently.

This restaurant seems as if it doesn't know what it wants to be. On a Saturday evening while featuring the Brian Patenaude Jazz group they hosted a women's shopping tour which made so much noise in the bar that you couldn't hear yourself speak let alone the music. Be a "fine dining" restaurant with your white table cloths and elevated prices or be a bar with burgers and wings.

If your into "scenes" this is a good place. The food is not that great and it's way over priced. I think they believe they are in NYC. I prefer a restaurant that's a bit less trendy and less of a "scene" so I stay away. I'd imagine there is a certain type of diner that enjoys that type of thing. The whole seen and be seen thing. Not I.
