Putnam Market has those high-end goodies you would never expect to find in a town the size of Saratoga, eg Niman Ranch hot dogs. In the front is the bakery which features locally baked favorites (don't miss the lemon bars) and some specialties imported from the city. On the right, beyond the cash register, an amazing selection of chocolates! Go further and you will find a deli case with good lunch fixins and way in the back the cheeses and cold case which is home to the Niman Ranch franks, white anchovies and other esoterica. Some complain that the prices are high here but when you consider the effort to bring in and stock this stuff for a single location, they are more than fair.
