Not one of the best in town but THE BEST wine and spirit store in Saratoga Springs. They have a huge selection, many knowledgeable staff members, the majority of which do not act like pompous wine elitists. The best recommendations come from the older gentlemen with white hair he take the same time to guide you to a selection if you tell him your price range is $8 or $40.

I was in Saratoga to help a family member in crisis. I really know nothing about the town. With trepidation, I went to Purdy's Wine with a total wine snob. I didn't think it was smart, but I had no choice. So to my utter amazement, Purdy's was perfect. My wine snob friend was europhic at the find. Not only did he kiss my hand at the checkout, he lunged for the cashier. This wine store has it all: knowledgeable sales staff, other worldy variety, and jewels the crown would envy. Am I exaggerating? No, see for yourself. There is no alcoholic beverage they don't have or they won't find for you. Be sure to ask their advice as they all knowing.

The staff at Purdy's are always willing to help pick out the perfect bottle of wine. For someone who knows very little about wine, I always depend on their suggestions and I've never been dissapointed
