Reviews of Mouzon House

My wife and I enjoyed a truly 5 star dining experience at Mouzon House on Friday night. In the winter Mouzon House is only open weekends and for special events so I think a lot of locals overlook this gem in the off season. Mouzon House is in fact a house which now houses a series of dining rooms each with its own unique style and feel. We sat in the back on an enclosed porch with no more than 5 tables in the room making for a very private dining experience and great ambiance. The food was spectacular. I ordered the veal chop which was wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. My wife had the beef and pork ragu which she really enjoyed. We started with a pear and citrus salad which is worth a return trip alone. On top of a fantastic fine dining experience the owners were donating 10% of the receipt to saratoga PLAN which fits so perfectly with their commitment to locally produced and organically grown food.

The Mouzon House is just another great example of why we any visit Saratoga as often as possible. Awesome decor, really eclectcic menu, and a dog friendly patio in the summers. Its off the beaten path so a little easy to overlook but very well worth the trip for the great creole style dishes made fresh from local ingrediens. This restaurant and its sister do an fantastic job of supporting local farmers while serving up great food and music in very interesting old victorian home.

Everything here is organic and locally grown and not only is it good for you but it's delicious! The waitresses feel like part of your family and it is a great place to eat. Restaurant week is a great time to go but I think they also have smaller portions that cost a little less, which is great all around.

I had a great meal on their second floor patio. They had the fire on, the place was hopping and the food was great. They buy fresh local food to fill most of their ingredients and it comes out in all their dishes. I had a roasted beet salad and the strip steak, they were both very good. The kicker was when I headed inside the restaurant, the whole thing is painted and decorated beautifully with rich colors and dark woods. Awesome place, I'll be here again soon.

I love the Mouzon house. The atmosphere and the decor are only made better by the friendly service and delicious food.
