About
Award winning designer Dennis deJonghe creates his unique jewelry collection in his Saratoga Springs studio and gallery – deJonghe Original Jewelry. Although Dennis opened his original gallery in 1982 on Caroline Street in historic Saratoga Springs, New York, he has been designing and creating jewelry since 1975. Now located on Broadway, dJ Originals showcases Dennis’s renowned artwork. His jewelry features fine quality gems set in precious metals ranging from everyday gold earrings to one-of-a-kind diamond engagements rings. These individual works of art are handcrafted using traditional goldsmithing techniques. For over 25 years, deJonghe Original Jewelry has been an integral part of the creative atmosphere in this historic setting and owner Dennis deJonghe has become the premier jewelry designer in Upstate New York. Many private collectors in North America and Europe own deJonghe pieces.
Artist Statement
Jewelry reflects the artistic taste of the wearer. Oscar Wilde stated, "One should be a work of art or wear a work of art." I approach jewelry as miniature sculpture, to be viewed from all sides and yet be functional to enhance the body. Being influenced by sea forms and nature I have developed a style – that of soft curving lines. Design elements of balance, form and color are incorporated into each piece. I believe the quality of the craftsmanship and materials are equal to the integrity of the design.
Custom Jewelry
Custom Jewelry offers the customer a totally unique opportunity to create a piece of jewelry to their liking. Starting with an idea, Dennis uses his creative liscense to develop a design with the customer. The process includes creating sketches, forming a wax mold, then finishing it with precious metals and fine gemstones - all while forming a tight relationship with the deJonghe staff.

I absolutely love jewelry that is unique and creative. My boyfriend purchased an absolutely beautiful custom designed ring with a large, spectacular boulder opal in 18K gold with diamonds. Precious! When one of the diamonds was lost, Dennis repaired it for free, while I waited. Dennis and Peg provide an extraordinary product and outstanding customer service. I'm looking to buy other pieces there in the future.

My engagement ring was designed by Dennis, the owner. The experience was great and he really took the time with my fiance to design the perfect ring, which is not the traditional engagement ring. I get compliments on my ring all the time, and this is due to the true craftsmanship! We are excited to design our wedding bands soon!
