Reviews of Chianti il Ristorante

After moving here from the San Francisco Bay area I was dying for an restaurant with great Italian food, service, class and elegance. Chianti has exceeded all expectations. This is the best Fine Dining Restaurant in town. Chianti has beautiful décor, excellent service, and a wonderful menu not to mention excellent food and unique specials with always a fresh fish option. It is the one place that you can dress up, have a splendid cocktail at the fully stocked bar and fine conversation with your companions – and sometimes the table next to you! This is a classy establishment that I would not recommend for children under 7 or improper dress. And, if you’re lucky, the owner, David, will sing to you. Love, love this place.

Piece o Crap! Disgruntled Leperchaun, Pouty Miserable Sister, Chefs food is terrible, Server was too busy for us. Yea-wont see us or our friends round there again.

We went for an early dinner after the Travers Stakes and found it excellent. All three of us enjoyed our meals, as well as the shared calamari and risotto. Delicious! The filet mignon was also cooked perfectly to my liking, I'll be going back again soon!

I found Chianti to be way over-rated. It is too loud, too cramped and the food is just okay. I cannot fathom why it always is crowded. There are several much superior restaurants within a short walking distance.

I liked the previous location better. I say that because this place is cramped. I got that it's bigger and they are trying to maximize space, but this comes at the expense of the customer and being completely comfortable. Since they re-priced and redesigned the menu, the portions have gotten smaller. I wouldn't mind paying more if there was more food. The bar is very nice, but that too is often very crowded. When there is a wait for a table, rather than telling people it won't be long, and sending them to the bar to spend money, perhaps a better long term strategy would be to give them an accurate assessment of the wait time. The food was OK. Some items were very tasty and good, others were a bit bland and plain. I don't know if it's high-volume or what, but more attention to the food, taste, etc. would be a substantial improvement. I'd go back and hope for better but I would be get bored quickly if there wasn't changes and improvement.
