SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Children's Museum of Saratoga and the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame and will participate in Museum Day on Saturday, September 29.
“We’re excited to participate because it allows the families who normally would be prevented from visiting our Museum due to admission costs the opportunity to experience all the fun and excitement that we have to offer.” states Ashley Terwilliger, Director of Education at the Children’s Museum. Area residents and visitors are invited to participate by visiting the Children’s Museum at Saratoga or the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is located at 191 Union Avenue, Saratoga Springs NY. Museum Day is presented by Smithsonian magazine and Hyundai Motor America and offers free admission to museums and cultural institutions to readers of Smithsonian and to visitors to Smithsonian.com. The Museum Day admission card is available in the September issue of the magazine and a downloadable version is on the Museum Day Web site www.smithsonian.com/museumdaycard Listings and links to other participating museums' and sponsors' sites can be found at www.smithsonian.com/museumday Celebrating culture, learning and knowledge, Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution's Washington, DC-based facilities. This year's Museum Day is also supported by CITGO Petroleum Corporation and, for the third consecutive year, TIAA-CREF. Last year, approximately 30,000 people attended Museum Day. Forty-nine states were represented by 448 participating museums, including 55 Smithsonian affiliates.
