The Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl Print E-mail

ImageThe Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl is an annual charity event held in Saratoga Springs, New York, featuring teams from the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL). Sprint football is Division I, varsity-level college tackle football where players may not weigh more than 172 pounds two days prior to kick off. It is a quick, explosive sport where there is an emphasis on athleticism rather than player size and where there is truly a level playing field. Members of the CSFL include The United States Military Academy at West Point, The United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Cornell University, The University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.

Whether you have never seen sprint football or are a die-hard fan, we hope that you will be with us on October 4, 2008 at 12:00 noon when Navy and Cornell meet for the first time ever in Saratoga Springs. Tickets are on sale now!

Bowl week activities include a “Kick-Off” banquet the evening prior to the game where the community is invited to meet coaches and players. The game’s venue is the Saratoga Springs High School football field on West Avenue in Saratoga Springs, a stadium with a spectator capacity of 4,000 and a well-maintained natural grass playing field. There is a real “bowl game” feel to the event, with pre-game activities, a pep band in the stands, a half-time show featuring an award-winning marching band, souvenirs commemorating the game, family-friendly tailgating, and a full concession stand. The victorious team will autograph and take home a street banner similar to those which lined Broadway in Saratoga Springs, an Allegiance Bowl tradition.

The Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl provides fans of all ages with an opportunity to experience college football in a festive setting while supporting the work of the game’s charities. Beneficiary for this year’s Adirondack Trust Allegiance Bowl is the Saratoga Springs American and National Little League, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
