The 2009 Fall Festival was a huge success with thousands of people converging on downtown Saratoga for a host of events, specials, and family fun.

This years fall festival was aided by picture perfect weather on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association, along with many generous sponsors, welcomes everyone to The 8th Annual Fall Festival Weekend (Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1.)

“It is a pleasure to invite everyone to enjoy our unique downtown this weekend” noted Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association (DBA) President Andrew Brindisi, “We have some- Family Fun thing for everyone in the family.”

“All your favorite attractions are back again this year,” details Rick Marchant, Fall Festival Co-Chair. “Bounce castle, pumpkin rolling, face painting, apple baseball, costume parade, trick-or-treating, trolley rides, petting zoo, pony rides and musical performances – it’s all here!” “We’ve got some great new attractions, too! So much that we had to add a second trolley route,” Fall Festival Chair Christine Cunningham commented.

“Some new attractions at the 2009 Fall Festival are a hay maze with a yummy prize in the middle. Speaking of yummy, Price Chopper’s Jodi Fitz will be here on Sunday to cook up a delicious ‘Kids in My Kitchen’ interactive demonstration. Plus, where else could a mom-to-be get their belly painted except at Haute Mama this weekend?”

The complete schedule of activities appears on pages F4-F5 of this special section. A trolley route map is on page F-7. “I’ve enjoyed seeing The Downtown Saratoga Springs Fall Festival grow from an acorn into a full-fledged happening,” stated Susan Farnsworth, DBA Director of Promotion and Marketing. “The community response has grown each year, and it’s gratifying to see how many people want to participate as volunteers.” Over 100 Festival Committee Members and volunteers are responsible for the smooth operation of over 60 events throughout the weekend.

For many, Christine Cunningham summarizes the reason why they lend their time to this event. “A smile on a child’s face is priceless."
