Whatever special occasion you are looking to celebrate—anniversary, Valentines Day, New Years Eve or getting engaged our guide to romantic restaurants in Saratoga Springs will help you impress your sweethart, fiance, wife, or girrlfriend.
Its hard to cover all the romantic places in Saratoga in one place but here are a few of our recommendations. If its Valentines Day, New Years Eve or Track Season you will need to book early as these are some of the capital districts most poplular and best restaurants.
First on the list is One Caroline Street an awesome little bistro just off Broadway. This is the perfect place for a music lover as they have terrific live music most nights. The tables are a little snug which makes this a great date plae but maybe not the place to pop the question.
Mouzon House is owned by the same people and offers a very intimate settings as the restaurant is a converted Victorian home. There are several small dining rooms many of them only able to fit a few people. I am sure for the right occasion a completely private dining room could be available.
In the arts district is The Beekman Street Bistro. Here Chef Tim Meaney serves up some of Saratoga’s absolute best cuisine almost all of which is prepared from locally grown farms. Beekman Street Bistro has a small but charming dining room and a great wine list.
Dine restaurant and bar is located on Henry Street near congress park in Saratoga Springs. Known for a unique blend of american, french and italian cuisines Dine is consistently a highly rated capital district eatery. The intimate dining room and cool bar is a great place for a special occasion, birthday or anniversary.
Slitghlty off the beaten path is Bloomers which is located on a stretch of Route 9 near exit 13 called the Ridge. Bloomers serves up a highly eclectic mix of original dishes ranging from seatood to duck to steaks, pork and veal chops. The menu changes frequently but is consistenly fantastic. The restaurant is a converted diner which doesn’t look like much from the outside but you won’t be dissapointed. Two dining rooms are available the front room with a bar and a smaller back room.
During Track season one of Saratogas best restuarants may be The Lodge. Located in the former residence of Harry Payne Whitney (father or Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney) the building drips with history and a sense of a bygone era. The Lodge is only open during track season but can be booked for weddings and special events.
Maestros is a fantastic little bistro located right on Broadway in Saratoga. This place is very small and intimate. Chef John Laposta does an amazing job serving up excellent and unique dishes and there are always great specials on the menu. You can’t beat the location and in the summer get a coveted outdoor table on Broadway if you can. Desserts here are always fantastic but be sure to save room for Maestros signature dark chocolate which gets passed at the end of every meal.
The Wishing Well has been a perenial favorite of Saratogians for decades. Romantic, yes but also great for family outings such as Mothers Day, Thanksgiving, and other get toghethers. Roaring fires in the winter and a really electric race crowd in the summer, The Wishing Well should be on your consideration list for eveyr occasion.
Last but not least on our list is Longfellows Restaurant on Union Avenue about 2 miles from Downtown Saratoga. Another fantastic Inn, Longfellows boasts one of the biggest fireplaces in Saratoga and the fire is always roaring on cold winter nights. There are several smaller dining rooms and great bar which makes Longfellows good for any occasion in the courting process—first date, Valentines Day, engagement, rehearsal dinner, wedding or anniversary.
That completes our guide but there is also a listing at our Romantic Restaurants page. Have suggestions of your own? Add a comment to this article or log in and make your own blog post.
