It's no secret that Saratoga Springs is a vibrant community during all four seasons of the year, but there are certainly fewer visitors after the track season and summer. All Saratoga Springs residents and visitors should do their best to rediscover the restaurants, stores, and other businesses they may have avoided during track season. You will not only be giving needed "off season" support to businesses who pay local taxes, employ your neighbors, and reinvest the profits here, you will likely be saving money in the process. Local restaurants and businesses have many great daily specials or other discounts via print ads and coupons, daily specials advertised on the internet and elsewhere, and of course the great deals found in the Spa City Packs (which will be available for the first time later this month).
We are fortunate to have great restaurant choices and alternatives to malls and big box stores to shop at, but we must not take our local businesses for granted. You can start your support this week, and you can continue that needed presence next month by doing your Christmas shopping in Saratoga Springs along our beautiful Broadway and other great streets. That great feeling of supporting your local business will sure beat ordering a bunch of mass-produced items from far away off the internet. See you downtown!
