A prequel to Sex and the City, the novel follows heroine Carrie Bradshaw during her years as a high school student in Connecticut. The New York Times best-selling book was released in April. Sex and the City, published in 1996, was the basis for the HBO hit series and subsequent blockbuster movie, whose sequel, Sex and the City 2, opened in movie theatres across the US on May 27.
Bushnell and her husband, Charles Askegard, Principal Dancer for New York City Ballet, will serve as Honorary Chairs for the annual Ballet Gala on Saturday, July 10 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Following the performance, there are fireworks and dancing to live bands under spacious tents on the lawn.
Guests may also purchase tickets to optional black-tie Gala activities hosted by the Action Council at the Hall of Springs.
