The Saratoga Performing Arts Center--(SPAC) has begun its annual fall Membership Campaign. This is a terrific opportunity for Saratogians to support this invaluable cultural resource and lock in some great deals such as discounted tickets, priority seating and other VIP amenities.
Memberships are available at 12 different price and benefit levels so there is a package and price point for every budget. Memberships can be purchased anytime on SPAC’s website at www.spac.org
“Our members are the backbone of SPAC. Their financial support helps underwrite our world-class programming and enhances our efforts to build the next generation of artists and audiences,” said Marcia J. White, SPAC’s President & Executive Director.
“One of the traits that distinguishes a SPAC member is their vision for the arts. They understand that in order to sustain SPAC and the classical performing arts, we need to not only support the arts, but instill in younger people a genuine interest and appreciation for this type of programming,” she continued.
“A successful membership drive in 2010 will help us strengthen our efforts to bring more kids to SPAC, through stronger educational outreach and special events and also help us raise the funds needed to underwrite our classical programming. With ticket income covering less than 50 percent of expenses, the support we get from our members helps sustain the summer residencies of New York City Ballet and The Philadelphia Orchestra,” White said.
“We are also proud to be able to offer our members a range of unique benefits that can enrich their experience. Depending on membership level, privileges can include preferred parking, ticket priority, ticket discounts and more,” said White. “Yet, no price can be put on the satisfaction members receive from the knowledge that they are supporting a cultural treasure that not only enriches individual lives, but which generates $30 million in economic activity for this region,” said White.
Among the goals of the 2010 Membership Campaign is to expand membership revenue by 10 percent, to $1.35 million. SPAC, which has approximately 3000 members, utilizes membership income to help offset the gap left by ticket income which covers less than 50 percent of expenses and to fund educational programs for young people.
“The gains in attendance SPAC realized during its 2009 Season reflect people’s growing appreciation for the richness and quality of the SPAC experience. A membership is a great way to more fully enjoy the opportunities SPAC offers while contributing something positive to the arts and the community. It also makes a wonderful holiday gift for friends and family members, who will be thanking you all summer long,” she concluded.
Gift memberships and gift certificates are currently available for purchase at www.spac.org or by calling Philip Scibilia at 518-584-9330 ext. 117.
