After Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Paris, Madrid, Cannes, Two Time World Champion of Hair Stylists brings his unique concept in Hair and Beauty to Saratoga Springs with the opening of his new salon at 324 Broadway Saratoga Springs, NY, Jan 16, 2007 This world famous hairstylist has come a long way from his childhood in Besancon, France, a small town outside of Paris. In 1979, at the age of fifteen Philippe Bevan left the security of his childhood to embark on a journey that would lead him around the world.
In pursuit of his dream, Philippe approached the director of the prestigious Ecole de Coiffure de Paris (an international hair school ran by the world president of hairstylists, Francois Magnien) and requested that the school customize a payment plan for his enrollment. During the two and a half years of training, Philippe learned the intricacies of hair design by day and the intricacies of pumping gas by night. Philippe honored the director's keen intuition by placing second in all of France on the CAP exam, earning his license in style. Following graduation, Philippe left for London's Vidal Sassoon Academy to teach and study for one year. Upon completion of the training, he returned to Ecole de Coiffure de Paris, where he was asked to be the artistic director. Now he was instructing instead of being instructed. At the same time, he trained for a vocational diploma required for professionals to run a salon in France. Later he took the same position in Paris as one of the most famous hair salons, Llongueras. Soon after, Mr. Bevan was offered the position to become the artistic director of C.A.T. France and the president of C.A.T. Paris (the association that leads the International World Festival of Hair Stylists). For many years Philippe found himself on jet planes that lead him to Asia, West Africa, Europe, and North & South America to represent French fashion. During his travels, Philippe Bevan, opened several salons, the Prive at the Bellagio, the Canyon Ranch at the Venetian in Las Vegas, and Jacques Dessanges salon in many different locations around the world. He has created hair designs for photo shoots in many magazines, including Vogue. He participated on televised shows for E! Fashion Emergency, Make Your Dreams Come True, and many more around the world. He has also styled hair for many famous stars such as, Salma Hayeck, Tommy Lee Jones, Roseanne, Paris Hilton, Faith Ford, Michelle Kwan, Donattella Versace, Rick Springfield, Susan Anton, and Gerard Depardieu, just to name a few. Philippe has been part of the organization for the annual World Festival of Hair Stylists in Cannes, France, and for the International Festival in the Ivory Coast, Argentina and Japan. You can find his work at previous fashion shows like Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Nina Ricci, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana. He uses his talent to organize charity events around the world, and two times locally at Saratoga Springs, Grotto nightclub during Track season. Overtime, Philippe Bevan won a lot of different awards. He was the winner of the European cup and a two-time world champion of hair stylist. He received the Civic Star (a national honor from the French government to represent his country around the world). Because of his reputation, Philippe Bevan had been contacted by two active citizens of Saratoga Springs, NY, owners of the Shoe Depot and also of the building at 324 Broadway, to be a partner.
